Someone made me an offer today...
Apple Powermac G4-400
17" mONITOR
320 Mb RAM
SCSI Card
Int. Zip Drive
20 GB HD
(with firewire and USB, DVD ROM, modem and Ethernet)
Ext. Lacie x16 CD/RW (Metal Housing)
for 2199 Euro.
My question is: Whats an SCSI card and an ethernet?

SCSI <pron: scuzzy> is an interface, for things like Hard disks, CD-ROMS etc, it is similar in function to IDE or Firewire. In fact it is what apple used to connect external things before firewire. Newer cards have faster access speeds then IDE*, and so a SCSI HDD can be useful if you need fast read write times.
Ethernet is a lot simpler to explain. It is the most comon form of network interface, if you have a network at school/college/work then it is probable an Ethernet network.

*SCSI cards tend to be faster than IDE cards of the same generation, however a new IDE card will be faster than a first gen. SCSI card

By "real money" I assume you mean your soon-to-be-archaic English sterling. It's ?1,361.20 which is ok.

you could always go to rip-off PC World with ?1,380 (inc VAT) and get NEW:
Features
? PowerPC G4 800MHz
? 256Mb SDRAM
? 40Gb Hard Drive
? CD ReWriter
? 32Mb ATI Radeon Graphics
? 2 Firewire Ports
? 56k Modem
? Network Ready
? Airport Ready
? Mac OS X

although that doesn't include an over-priced apple monitor.
my advice: Avoid that second-hand offer or at least wait for Machead to chip in.
Machead?

I can't remember, or find any specs in any of my computing stuff, maybe i should tidy it up some time
, but for the difference in price of SCSI disks, and IDE disks it's probably not worth buying SCSI Disks unless you desperately need the speed. Although saying that, there are way more RAID* compatible SCSI controlers than IDE ones, & if this card is RAID compatible then it may be worth buying SCSI disks, as Raid can speed up access times, and make your data more secure.
*RAID stands for something like Redundant Array of Independant Disks
